We have over 37 years experience building these incredibly strong, spacious, and energy saving structures. The ONLY dome company licensed as both residential and commercial dome contractors. We are full time geodesic dome builders,....not part time dealers or distributors of dome kits. We live in domes...work in domes...and understand the math that creates them.
We're also the ONLY dome builder directly affiliated with several dome kit
companies. This means greater selection as well as more experience with ALL
types of domes! We can help you decide who's got a "gimmick" or just trying to reinvent the wheel. We have experience with most kits, all profiles, and offer custom designs and finishes not found in most standard "kit" packages. Special applications or low environmental impact sites are just a way of life for us.. We also build custom kits when conditions warrant, and will not be undersold on any kit.
We can build to any stage of completion and offer consultation services on any dome project worldwide. We also offer maintenance, roofing services, or any major renovation of existing dome homes, as well as retrofit existing domes for cupolas. A very smart move if you are re-roofing and don't have one. Built properly, it relieves "overpressure", which leads to decking rot and leaks.
Green construction. Domes have always been one of the most environmentally friendly structures you can build. They use less materials, less energy to create and occupy, and impact a smaller area. It's kind of like the older man and woman driving down the road one Sunday afternoon. She casually mentions they used to sit side by side when they traveled. He looks over from behind the steering wheel and says," I ain't moved". Domes are kinda like that. We're glad folks are catching on, but we've known this for some time.
Did you ever wonder why domes stand up to tornados and hurricanes better than
rectilinear structures? Recent hurricanes have brought extensive media coverage that show domes surviving when all else was washed or blown away! We have documented these facts for decades! Why does our government house important installations under domes? Why do many communities designate commercial domes in the area as emergency shelters? Our dome homes have been featured locally on ABC's 33/40, nationwide on MSNBC, the Discovery Channel , and we were also featured in the Los Angeles Times.
HURRICANE KATRINA UPDATE.On the causeway between Mobile and Daphne Ala., The ONLY building left without major damage , was a geodesic dome bar...Traders. An Albata kit under construction in Gulfport...3/4 complete, and hit by the eyewall....survived intact. We have 13 clients who have reported in with no damage other than glass or shingle damage.We are documenting case after case like this.

If you are an owner/builder, or have local labor with no dome experience, you've probably experienced financial institutions' reluctance to finance your dome project. We offer the long term commitment to the project needed to ease those concerns. Our sources can provide any info needed for underwriters, or inspectors' questions. Our on site supervision extends far beyond the initial dome raising. Our clients receive vital information needed to deal with every aspect of dome construction till the key is in the front door.
Don't forget to ask about our energy use records. After changing our meter 3 times, Alabama Power asked to witness our typical installation..They sent an engineer, hvac expert, and company officer to inspect our hardware, ducting, and methods. They then faced the facts that domes heat and cool for half the energy usage of a comparably sized rectilinear home! Our entire energy bill on a total electric home of 4045 sq .ft. for the year 2007, was $1800.00. Our home/office/shop had the lowest KW usage per sq. ft. of any building served by Alabama Power.

number of "experienced" dome consultants took
a big jump immediately after our site hit the internet. Read these sites very carefully folks. We've
been building domes longer than most kit manufacturers in business today! Have
you noticed now that some of these kit companies will send a "couple of guys" for a
couple of days? They are now in the roofing and cupola business? You're paying for it in the kit...and it leaves most of
your domes' finish issues unresolved! Where's the real value in this "hit and run" tactic? When you need a new roof, cupola or any repair...we do this every day, with plenty of previous clients you can contact for information on how we do business!
