New Age Construction company is the oldest and most experienced builder of Geodesic domes in the United States and Canada.
With over 38 years building domes, we have more experience with these structures in general than most kit manufacturers. We offer complete dome design, planning, and erection, from the ground to the cupola.
We offer evaluation and repair services for those domes either built incorrectly or have problematic leaks. We can repair your dome, retrofit a cupola and roof it correctly.
ROOFING A DOME ! NOT FOR THE INEXPERIENCED
- Many contractors who build rectilinear homes do not understand the individual nature of the panels of the dome and how the roofing should be lapped and cut.
- This makes for well intentioned roofers, but many leaks.
- We offer the choice of teaching your guys how, or roofing it for you.
- This monster used 3 different dome techniques. Hat's off to the "James Gang",they caught on quicker than most!

Yep! That's a sphere made from 2 domes of Lexan up there.
Any enclosure you want to cover...we can either find the right dome or manufacture one for you from a variety of materials..
Domes in natural disasters!
How many of you have asked for photos of domes struck by natural disasters for reference on how well they will survived? Here are a few sent to me over the years, and some I took myself.
.
Hurricane "Alicia" Galveston Texas

F4 Tornado Jacksonville Texas 1987. Note the remains of a "box" home partially sheltered by the dome.
Post "Katrina" coastal Mississippi 32' storm surge

F5 tornado just west of Birmingham Albama 1998 ....42 fatalities. Tarp is covering hole made by Ranger pickup later found 3/4 mile away. It was sitting inside a metal building attached to the dome. Scanned from photograph

April 27th 2011. Brookwood Alabama
One of (7 ) F5 tornadoes ripped through our area this day and struck this dome located near Tuscaloosa. Photo was taken in the first few minutes after the storm. The owners bought this house specifically for storm protection. They weren't dissapointed! They were at home and huddled under a staircase during the strike. They actually felt the suction and heard many objects striking the dome. It sustained 9K worth of damage, mostly for a new roof, while "box" houses located lower in elevation and not directly impacted had 25K worth.

MY HOUSE after a 117' White oak tree snapped off at base during intense thunderstorm. July 2010

This photo was taken after power temporarily restored. Attached tool room came down during tree removal. Damage is there, but hard to see until standing close to dome. 3 panels needed repair. New cupola plywood. 15 sq of roofing. Power company linemen were amazed the house was standing, since they've seen this kind of thing before.

This tree was actually smaller than the one that hit my house.
Considering most "box" houses like this would be cut in half ...I'll take it.
