Projects underway....
. Timberline (1) N.A.C.(16) Monterey(2) 20 year old kits.... with an Albata added on...Where are all these folks digging these old Monterey kits from? Lots of Albata's going these days.
Charles and Bobbie have started their 40' N.A.C. kit. Charles did his own foundation with the best accuracy I've seen from an owner/builder yet.The design has only one floor and a basement. The entrance and living room are incredible with those tall ceilings. He's put glass up high in the walls for passive light from his cupola.
Ray and Nancy have a beautiful setting for their new 50 footer. It looks into the mountans of north Alabama. They waited 20 years to start this one and Paul has drawn the plans himself. It's nice to put one up that has been so well thought out!
The Louisiana coast is our second home these days. Cristal has had a dream of a dome for some time and now it's up.....10 feet up on pilings. Slidell is catching on! A great house that slows traffic on a daily basis for a look-see.
.
Jerry's new office is finished. This is the best example of a "green" structure that we've ever built. The engineering and environmental advantages are too numerous to list here, but this is a dome that takes advantage of more engineering advances than any structure we've ever done. It is part of a network of similar offices to be placed in strategic locations to better serve his client base. What more inspiring place to work than in a dome! I kept telling him he should have opened a convenience store in the building . The folks just stopping to look at the building are continuous.
Well our Norwegian globetrotter Tammy T is finally in hers...A triple dome complex with one dome devoted entirely to her new Steinway. This dome was one of the most fun we've ever done with the best people we've ever worked with. Folks this gal can tickle some ivory and has a voice that keeps her in the spotlight . Hat's off to Jim Hudson and sons...great guys and great craftsmen.
Anna Tiedemen ...how to describe this lady? Smart, Professional, and loves her dome house! Determined to dress up a mountain top in W Va with the most incredible double 40 you've ever seen! She's doing a web page on the construction and I'll link it soon. The view from this house and the sun tracking over the apple orchard is truly breathtaking early in the mornings.
Gene Soult and his family set a new dry in record for an Oregon...On a full basement to boot!. His finished cost was half that of most homes because of the amount of work he did himself .His family was totally involved in the construction. Sorry to divulge your secrets Gene, but folks he built this house for $45.00 per sq. ft.!There is absolutely no way to calculate the amount of Gatorade we consumed on this one. Heat index during the 3 days we built the dome was 108. Gene ran laps around all of us!
Dale thought her improperly roofed,(we didn't do it!), hail damaged, leaking dome was a goner. But nope...Dan the man, Charlie, myself, and company cut the bad dome up into little pieces and put up a brand new one on the footprint. How many other homes can you do that to?
Melissa and Rob have jumped through every hoop known to man and mortgage broker, to be building their two domes. We've added a new landmark to Watkins Glen. This was a lesson in tenacity folks! Melissa wore em down! Speaking of wore em down...Andy,Uncle Bob, and my best left hand man, Chuck really put on a demonstration of brotherly love on this one.The whole family showed up
