Projects underway....

Where are these folks digging these old Monterey kits from? An Albata going, an old Good Karma, a Natural Spaces, as well as 7, N.A.C.kits. Several new cupola re roof projects underway as well.

Norman H has started a really nice N.S.. Foundation is in and waiting for spring when the real work starts.

Bob has a really nice triple shaping up for the mountains of Tennessee. One whole dome is open for a mega lving room.

Sandy and Bo have their foundation up and dome raising starts soon.

Jim K has another nice N.A.C. 40 footer going in the hills of Tn.

Trent and Laura are really doing the artsy thing on their new 40. Can't wait to start this one with Jess and company!

Butch and Clara have their multi dome dried in in Oklahoma.(3) N.A.C. domes. 2-40's and a 24' hobby dome. Miss Clara needs lots of room for her sewing. Troy and company were great to work with. These "regular" carpenters were impressed by the fit and speed of erection of these domes. This home is in an area of Oklahoma that was struck by an F5, so this bad boy has lots of extra Simpson and upgraded assembly hardware. There was another dome in the area struck by a 1000 gallon propane tank and survived. Working on getting photos of that one.

After surviving a 32 foot tidal surge during Katrina, this client decided to start over to follow the new FEMA guidelines.. Their original dome survived a 32' storm surge but was saturated and had to come down. The new dome is wind rated at 225 MPH+ and sits 4' higher on (35) class II pilings. First floor level is 14' 9" from grade, 20'9" from flood stage, and gets an extra discount on his flood insurance as a result.

The owners of New Age Dentistry completely remodeled their dome. This includeed adding fire egress windows, new roof, cupola, as well as completely rebuilding the interior. They waited out the renovation in an apartment, but are doubly proud of the new look! Thanks for your confidence Dan! His letter is on file.

Taken just to prior to roofing

Joe and Dixie have a great 45' dome FINISHED in Texas with 9' ceilings and lots of open areas accessble to the 2nd floor by a huge spiral stair. They have waited 25 years to build this dream dome. It also features one of my favorite products...BIG ASS fans. This house is a music hall and a showplace for all of the musical guests they have. Wayne and Alton are some of the best carpenters I have ever worked with. Don't put anything but Lone Star in Alton's cooler though.

Mel and Lori of Natural Mystic had an old Good Karma kit they bought from a defunct dealer. We upgraded the basic kit and have created what Guinness Book has labeled as the "World's first dome tattoo parlor" in Pineville La.. Business has gone though the roof since they moved in while the utility bills they are (or were) paying are going the other way. The people stopping to look at this place while we were building were non stop, so it's no surprise the interest a commercial dome generates for the owners.

Anna Tiedemen ...how to describe this lady? Smart, Professional, and loves her dome house! Determined to dress up a mountain top in W Va with the most incredible double 40 you've ever seen! The view from this house and the sun tracking over the apple orchard early in the mornings is truly breathtaking .She has since updated this house with dual cupolas. The natural light coming in has really made a dramatic difference. Her labor sources weren't the best but when life gives us a lemon, we make lemonade.

For those clients who asked us about metal roofs for domes, we are pleased to announce we are now a factory authorized Reinke metal shakes dealer. thses shingless carry a full 50 year warranty! The RSA/Battle house tower in Mobile Ala. showcases this product beautifully. The copper shakes, after a patina process, look 100 years old. New Age Construction is honored to have been a part of Alabama's tallest building . see more at http://www.michaelmastro.com/photo_rsa-rooftop.html

Ray and Nancy have a beautiful setting for their new 50 footer looking into the mountans of north Alabama. They waited 20 years to start this one and Paul has drawn the plans himself. It's nice to put one up that has been so well thought out! Featured in DOME TIMES magazine. Be sure to check out this new publication that goes beyond a bunch of recycled ads for old kit companies.

Jerry's new office is finished. This is the best example of a "green" structure that we've ever built. The engineering and environmental advantages are too numerous to list here, but this is a dome that takes advantage of more engineering advances than any structure we've ever built. It is part of a network of similar offices to be placed in strategic locations to better serve his client base. What more inspiring place to work than in a dome! I kept telling him he should have opened a convenience store in the building . The folks just stopping to look at the building, 2 years after completion, are still non stop.

Well our Norwegian globetrotter Tammy T is finally in hers...A triple dome complex with one dome devoted entirely to her new Steinway. This dome was one of the most fun we've ever done with the best people we've ever worked with. Folks this gal can tickle some ivory and has a voice that keeps her in the spotlight . Hat's off to Jim Hudson and sons...great guys and great craftsmen!

Gene Soult and his family set a new dry in record for an Oregon.. His finished cost was half that of most homes because of the amount of work he did himself ..On a full basement to boot! His family was totally involved in the construction. Sorry to divulge your secrets Gene, but he built this house for $45.00 per sq. ft.!There is absolutely no way to calculate the amount of Gatorade we consumed on this one. Heat index during the 3 days we built the dome was 108. Gene ran laps around all of us!

Dale thought her improperly roofed,(we didn't do it!), hail damaged, leaking domes were a goner. But nope...Dan the man, Charlie, myself, and company cut the bad domes up into little pieces and put up brand new ones on the footprint. During sub zero temps! How many other type homes can you do that to? Dan now works with me on projects nationwide and is a very intuitive carpenter.

Melissa and Rob have jumped through every hoop known to man and mortgage broker, to be building their two domes. We've added a new landmark to Watkins Glen. This was a lesson in tenacity folks! Melissa wore em down! Speaking of wore em down...Andy,Uncle Bob, and my best left hand man, Chuck, really put on a demonstration of brotherly love on this one.The whole family showed up.
